Sports Action Photography
My love of sports comes from personal playing and coaching experience. Having played soccer, football (MVP), baseball, field hockey (BC All-Star), track and field (former BC long jump record holder), volleyball (BC College Champions), basketball, tennis, Douglas College Male Athlete of the Year, I have a "feel" for sports in general.
After graduating with a major in Physical Education from the University of British Columbia I went on to coach various sports in the public school system.
My love of photography started while photographing teammates on my little league team using black and white film. As well as being a contest winner, my images have been published in various newspapers and magazines.
Since I'm left-handed, I was nicknamed "Southpaw" in my early years. The name stuck and several of my friends still call me "Southpaw" today.
Eight knee operations sidelined my playing career. This allowed me to further my sports photography dream.
